This film event features the Academy Award-winning documentary “American Factory” by Steven Bognar and Julia Reichert. The aim is to introduce students to Duke Kunshan’s cultures and movements major. This film narrates the collision of two worlds of labor and mass manufacturing (the U.S. and China) within a shuttered General Motors plant near Dayton, Ohio. This film will be followed by a panel discussion featuring faculty members to discuss the story and how it relates to the cultures and movements major.
