In his speech following the donation ceremony, Mr. Holder shared with the audience the enormous impact scholarships made on his life during his school years. He hoped that Bond Scholarship, created on the shared values and aspirations between Bond Education and Duke and Duke Kunshan, can help more students to grow, develop and realize their full potentials.

Mr. Huang told the story of how he was connected to Duke and Duke Kunshan. He was introduced to Ms. Wendy Kuran, Associate Vice President at Duke when he on a philanthropy tour to Duke University in 2015, and was deeply impressed with Duke’s global strategy and pioneering spirits. ‘I was touched by Wendy’s passion for philanthropy and education. I am also amazed to see how a top university like Duke would constantly seek to enhance its global presence by keeping an agile mind and building bigger platform for its students. Comparing to a veteran like Duke, Bond Education is still new in the field of education. Yet we hope to learn from the giants and create more opportunities for Chinese students to thrive and lead in the world.’
