DKU Advisory Board Holds 2015 Annual Meeting at DKU

April 25, Kunshan – World leaders in finance, environment, industry, media, higher education and international relations gathered on Duke Kunshan University campus for the second annual DKU advisory board meeting. DKU leadership and student and faculty representatives as well as leaders from Wuhan University and the City of Kunshan joined them for a full day meeting designed to help create the success path for China’s newest and most elite joint-venture university.

During the meeting, advisory board members interacted with DKU student and faculty representatives to learn about their academic experiences. DKU chancellor Liu Jingnan and executive vice chancellor Mary Brown Bullock reported to the advisory board a review of the university’s inaugural year. The meeting featured three member input sessions that involved all participating members in discussing DKU’s preparation for launching an undergraduate degree program, alignment of the university’s new environment initiatives with China’s needs, and reexamination of DKU’s long-term growth and vision.

Established in January 2014, the DKU advisory board is a volunteer organization that provides strategic guidance to DKU’s leadership team and helps advance the university’s mission. The board held its inaugural meeting in Beijing in May 2014. Currently, the board membership includes 26 corporate, civic and education leaders.
